Just picked up a Nice 97 Tip S, I remember seeing a Car in the For Sale section with Paddles put in, These Guys in the link below say they can do it For $1000?
Any Info or Links to other Member doing this would be Much appreciated, Thanks
I guess these would be a "contemporary" addition, however I've never seen the benefit. One can already shift a Tip without taking hands off the steering wheel with the buttons. And the buttons are not any closer or farther away than the paddles would be. I've got another car that came with factory paddles and they're fun, but I just don't see the point of putting paddles on a 993/996Tip.
But to each his or her own. If that's what you want, go for it.
You can do it at home with the Works Bell kit in the link above. It'll cost you about $500 and you will have to order that kit out of Japan or Australia. You will also need to make or modify an existing steering wheel hub to make use of the standard 964/993 clock spring to retain use of the horn and automatic indicator cancel functions.
Seeing that the paddles are mounted to the steering wheel they will invert when turning, I seem to recall this this was the complaint with the Tiptronic rocker switch set-up. Might just be a small issue as if the steering wheel is inverted, one is probably not running at track speeds where the paddles come into play.

You use the stick when the wheel is inverted. Do it all the time in my Audi TTS, which I always drive in manual mode.

Cheers.
If he's already used to using paddles in another vehicle the buttons could be problematic.
This Client wants to retain the 4-spoke Steering for period correctness but add shift paddles. It's been a while since we did one because it is frankly an involved task (check out my tech guy's hand!), but we decided to give it another shot. Will post finish product pictures after the wheel is re-wrapped.
