Spray them with penetrating oil and then go to town with a drift. I just did mine and it took more banging than I was initially comfortable with, but they eventually came without too much trouble.
I assume you took out the assembly. If you did, you can support the bottom part leaving room for the pin. Than you can drift the pin out wiyh gentle hammer tapping
Drill a 1/2" hole through a 2x4, clamp the 2x4 in your vise, center the pin over the hole and go to town with a drift and a 3lb hammer. They're really in there.
Thanks for all the replies! I think I am throwing in the towel. I was removing the bars for plating. The original plating is still halfway decent and much of the bar is concealed. I hammered by butt off with no movement. I suppose I could use the shop press on them but at this point, I really need to get this hardware shipped off.
Getting the plated shaft out off the assembly will give you the opportunity to get it workkng properly again. The assembly has a clever safety system to prevent crudhing fingers when the lights are turned on. Mine wss frozen rock solid but niw is wotkinh like new.
I beat them.....Wasn't easy or fun. Once the pins were out it was nearly as hard to get the lights off the shafts! The penetrating oil really helped. Thanks again to all for the help

I must admit, this forum not only aides me but pushes me to amp up my game! I knew that the bars (left unfinished) would have bothered me 2 yrs down the line when the pain is long forgotten
