HVAC Unit dead - trouble shooting check list
Hi all, no life at all in the unit.
No lights on the demist button, no blower, nothing.
Unit just seems dead.
Would anyone have a step by step fault finding process please.
The air con has never worked, and was aware of this when I bought the car. The seller said at the time that they are very problematic. The heater and demist always worked really well.
Just an aside, the front of the unit looks slightly different to all the ones I have seen images of on the internet while researching the problem.
Thank you 😘

Thanks for the reference Railmaster.
Heidi, check fuses 1, 28 and 17. How is your CCU different from others? Any pictures?
Cheers,
Tore

Thanks for the quick replies,
I shall post a photo of the unit soon as I get home, it's raining here and even if I wanted to take her out, it's too difficult driving when I can't stop the windows steaming up!!!

All the mentioned fuses are in the main fuse box in the luggage compartment.

This is a normal non-A/C Climate Control Unit.
If all fuses are OK, you have to start digging with a voltmeter to find out if all the power supplies are present on the CCU harness connectors. You'll need some electric skills to do this. If all power feeds are OK, there's probably an internal fault in the unit, which is no problem to fix.

I thought the car had A/C, is there a compressor on the engine? Is the CCU original?
