I been attending since the late 1980's & moved to Carmel
in 2000, where I lived for 16 years until last April. Here are
my recommendations & the events I will be personally attending
this year:
Mission Ranch on 26270 Dolores Street behind the Carmel Mission. (American)
Clint's only remaining restaurant in Carmel.
Don't bother with the one - Hog's Breath - he sold long ago! http://www.missionranchcarmel.com/restaurant.htm
Great list, Eduardo. I've been attending sporadically since 1996 and can't argue with any of these choices! The only thing I would add is another good breakfast spot at the La Playa Hotel (2 blocks south of Ocean on Camino Real):
The dining room is elevated and looks out over the pool below with ocean views off in the distance. Not a bad way to start your morning! The hotel has recently been restored and it isn't a bad place to stay either.
Hope you have a great trip. Perhaps a little bitter sweet returning to Carmel since your move. Enjoy!

Yes...need to add La Playa to our list. I have not been there
since it was remodeled. Would be interested in the feedback
of those that visit it.

For me returning to Carmel feels as if I never left. But we
have no regrets about selling our home on Ocean View
Avenue on Carmel Point:
We still have many friends here, which we will keep
for a lifetime. In general, my wife & I had a very
good run there & we are now starting an exciting
new chapter in our lives at North Scottsdale in the
beautiful Sonoran Desert!
I also put together recommendation for the
immediate area surrounding Carmel for Rennlisters
coming to Rennsport V in 2015. Here is that list:
Other restaurants in Carmel Valley & Carmel Valley Village that I recommend:
Baja Cantina (Mexican) on 7166 Carmel Valley Road (not far from Carmel-by-the-Sea): http://www.carmelcantina.com
The weekly gathering of sport cars & hot rods is on Thursdays!
The Baja Cantina owner, auto collector Pat Phinny, also is the proprietor of 'Turn 12'
restaurant (American) in downtown Monterey - thus named because Laguna Seca
has 11 turns! http://www.turn12barandgrill.com
*********
'Carmel Valley Village' (20/30 minute drive from Carmel). Can also be accessed via
Laureles Grade from Route 68 in vicinity of Laguna Seca):
Corkscrew on 55 West Carmel Valley Road / Carmel Valley Village http://www.corkscrewcafe.com
The owners, Walter & Gaston Georis, also are the proprietors of Casanova &
The Biclyclette in Carmel. Gaston drives a Boxster.
Wine Tasting
Bernardus Winery Tasting Room on 5 West Carmel Valley Road / Carmel Valley Village http://www.bernardus.com
Bernardus Winery is owned by Ben Pon, an ex-Porsche factory driver,
whose family are Porsche (& VW Group) importers for Holland!
Talbott Vineyards Tasting Room on 5 Pilot Road, Carmel Valley Village http://www.talbottvineyards.com
Talbott was owned by a friend, notable motorcycle collector, Robb Talbott!
It has just been sold. Robb used to have part of his extensive motorcycle
collection on display at the tasting room.
Carmel Mid-Valley
Jeffrey's Grill / 112 Mid Valley Center / Great Breakfast & Brunch spot.
Halfway to Carmel Village. Closer to Quail Lodge & Carmel proper! http://www.jeffreysgrillandcatering.com
*******
By the way, you can drive from Carmel to Greenfield (on 101, south of Salinas)
via Monterey County G16 Road. Pretty twisty...and a good interior road to drive your Porsche!
Finally, 'Monterey Bay Aquarium' in Cannery Road, Monterey
(if you do one tourist stop, this is the one!).
World class aquarium on Monterey Bay! http://www.montereybayaquarium.org
I grew up in Carmel Valley and to went to school in Pebble Beach. This week in August was always one of my favorites. Just wandering around car spotting was a phenomenal experience. The events themselves were mind-blowing -- so many amazing cars.
Your post could be seen, at least to my eyes, as a bit confusing!
The 911R that shows the (French) license plate 5573QD14 is
**not** #17, but it is #003 !
(I think the Ingram Collection still do own both of these two.)
\
Thank you for the correction, GVA-SFO. Indeed I picked the wrong 1967 911R from the Ingram Collection. The #017
has apparently been since sold by the Ingrams. This car was
owned formerly by Warren Eads, then Peter Kitchak, both of
whom I know personally.
So indeed the car in display is #003, currently in the Ingram
Collection:
Eduardo I'm still hung up on that picture window overlooking the ocean, I'm not sure I could ever give that up. We just bought a home with an incredible view of the valley here in Temecula and we both say to ourselves that we will grow old here.
Now back to Monterey, the pictures are incredible and please keep posting! I'm hoping to make it next year once I have a solid foundation at my new job. Until then I'll live vicariously through the various posts on Rennlist and other sites.

California is not what it used to be when we first moved here in 1985.
It's now more like this!
Glad we cashed out while we could....and came back to live within
the territory of the America we love!

Back in a rainy & cool Scottsdale!
Great pix!! BTW, have a friend in the Porsche club region back in IA with a Z8 that he has driven over 100K miles! Just took it on a road trip out to WY from IA this summer. Probably one of the most, if not the most high mileage Z8 out there!
I'll look for that beautiful blue long hood on the streets around Troon but doubt it sees much sun... I'd be in the bahia red 914 until the Mex blue Spyder gets down here this fall...
