Default ALP placement on GT3/RS

I've searched the entire forum, in addition to Google, and I've only found a few GT3s with ALP installations. I have the 5/quint setup on my RS7 and it's saved me a handful of times...

My car is supposed to go in Friday to CarTunes in Atlanta for a full install. I'd like to use some of the open console buttons for power and then mute to my radar detector if possible.

I'm having a hard time figuring out where the best placement would be for full coverage yet still retaining a clean installation look. I'd prefer to just use two on the front -- one under each turn signal -- but wondering if anyone has done that and actually had their system tested; either at a RD Forum test event or in the real world. All the threads I've found seemed to have gone dead after the initial install post and replies.

Can anyone chime in on whether they're running 2 or 3 on the front and where they're installing them. Pics would be great and any feedback on the effectiveness of your install. I'm planning on going with 2 on the back above the plate... that seems to be the only thing I'm clear on here.

Thanks!

Anyone? Maybe my searches were limited because no one is installing ALP on these cars. Track car? More mature drivers never speeding on public roads? Would love feedback if anyone has it.

I had Cartunes in Atlanta install mine. We ended up with 3 front 2 back. They did a great job and they have been effective on ga-400. I don't think I have a pic but I will look.

I went with an escort 360!portable. I've had the 9500 installed in other cars and prefer the 360. It is removable and works extremely well!

Found a pic where you can see 2 of the three in the front.

I have 2 on the front in the centre grill. Have not had any issues with them being there.

Ok, that's where Dak explained to me they've done them before. That's clean as usual for the CarTunes team!

And agreed on the Max360... Have tried many of them and have that on the RS7, Redline on my wife's Q7. Picking up another 360 for the GT3 since I'm most comfortable with it.

From an aesthetic standpoint, your setup would be my preference but I wonder about coverage at the headlights. Have you had them field tested yet or had any real world saves?

Beautiful color btw.. Both your guy's cars are awesome!

Only challenge is they cut the mesh but it's not too expensive to replace

The only testing that was done was by the company that did the installation. I have not had any real world encounters since it was installed one year ago.

Black car. 2 front at extreme upper edge of center grille, fronts flush with bumper cap leading edge. 2 rear at upper edges of license plate cutout, flush with trailing edge of bumper cap. Effective so far.

Believe this is effective placement front and rear as I have a front plate mounted at tow hook point, one sensor just beneath it, front aux lights also highly reflective and sensors very close to them.

Because they are reflective but non-diffusive, LEO tend to use license plates and lights - especially flatter-fronted lights - as aiming points. This is confirmed by LEO friends. Have noted GT3 owning LEO mount ALP sensors at same points as mine.

I use in combination with V1 and iPhone app. If you can find a LIDAR-controlled camera they are useful to practice with and learn how the system alerts you. Remember to get on ALP mailing list to be alerted to firmware updates and update religiously. Good luck.
