Champion RG5B
Just came across a set of Champion RG5B's for sale. They're 18x8.5 & 18x10 but the seller doesn't know the offset. Based on the below pic of these wheels on his 996, is it safe to assume that they will fit or is that too big of an assumption?

I had a set of 19" RG5B's on my 997 C2S, and they looked fabulous. If I remember correctly, the size and offset info is stamped on the inside of the rims. They are GREAT wheels, strong and light weight.

A few more pics...any idea how to confirm they're real and not replicas? Are the recessed valve stems the way they came from champion?

They look like legit Champions to me. I don't remember the recessed stems, and my photos aren't close enough for me to compare them. The first photo seems to show something on the outer rim. Just beware that if the polished aluminum recessed areas get scratched, nobody I could find can restore the same level of polish as the original wheels. They will still look good, but the polish will be a little hazier.

just found some pics of replicas. On the replicas, the valve stem hole is a notch (u shaped cut out), not an actually hole thru the face. I think these are real.
Replica: Notice cut out for valve stem:

I know my wheels.
I've owned several sets of RG5 and RG5B's. Just ask to see the Champion markings as noted before - if they are there, then I will stand corrected. I believe that Champion marked all of their wheels with a logo, size & offset info.

it's on a 996 for a start....
Look at the wheels in this post...bolt spacing, "forged" and size markings, stem...

And offsets can be measured with a ruler.

Just noticed that in the photos of my RG5B's on my last 997, the (faux) bolts around the outside are not even like the ones in your photos. There is 1 between the 2 close spokes, and 2 between the 2 spokes that have a bigger space. See photo below. So I think Nurburger is right. Too bad, as these wheels are hard to find.

None of the bolts are real, right? These are all 1 piece forged wheels. The b's are made to look like 3 piece with the bolts.

Correct, the "bolts" are not real, as they are 1 piece forged wheels. I'd be surprised if the wheel design was different for the 18" version.

Took me a while to find the thread, but I think those wheels are Highline wheels. If true, they are cheap, eBay rims.
