Default Windstop storage? 987.2 (spyder)

Hello all, on a roadtrip and had a few bars of service.... I see where the middle windstop can come out but is there a particular place to store it in this car?

Thanks!!

(Actually the manual recommends taking it out while the top is up for better ventilation but does not specify where it should be stored)

There is a black cloth holder that should have come with the car. Mine sits in the trunk as I have never removed the wind stop in the 5 years I have owned the car. It looks like this

As far as ventilation, I have never had any issues with ventilation and the interior still smells new (like leather). No mold or moisture issues. on the top or interior.

mine is in a helmet bag, works great, will look into a case. Sun shield on, weathershield off, windstop out, windows down is a great way to enjoy the .2 Spyder - air in traffic...

I have not seen that bag in my car. Will need to check around a little more. Did all the 987.2's come with those?

Thanks for the help Marine Blue! So unfortunately same for me too. I have not found that nifty bag in my car either. I guess I'll have to order one... Would be cool if there was "built in" storage spot...

I have the same black cloth holder. Mine does not have the velcro though. I have never used mine for the rear plastic window storage.

I also don't have Velcro, that may have been a 986 holder on eBay.

The weather shield.... Are you guys rolling this up all the way in one direction? Or, halfway on both sides? A Porsche produced video shows it the latter but the manual shows it all rolled in one direction ...

I roll into the center from both ends and it seems to work well to keep the top compact.

Personally I find the original instructions Porsche developed are not perfect. I have my own way of removing the top which seems to work better as far as fitting it into the rear.

When I've taken it out the ventilation improves a lot, especially with no AC in mine. I ususally just store it temporarily behind the passenger seat, then re-place it when the drive is over. Seems simple enough and no need for bag etc...

I received a storage bag with my previous 987.2 Boxster S for the wind screen but did not receive one with the 981 Spyder.

I didn't see anyone mention the storage compartment in the engine cover - although bag might provide addl protection.

Just a quick note, the wind stop I was referring to is the hard plastic window that is mounted between the two roll hoops. The rear roof piece shown in the picture above did not include any type of carrying case, it just fits into the center foam cubby as shown.

Question for the OP, did you receive the one page instruction sheet which explains top installation and removal?

Um, no... Not sure which sheet you're referring to? Thanks
