Alex's NachtGrun S4 is on sale: Update, still for sale
I know we already have a specific 928 for sale thread, but since this car is paint to sample with rare options, sports seats, I would like to start a thread to discuss the car.
What is the history of the car, since I found out on bring a trailer that it was owned by another Rennlister prior to Alex?
What does it look like in person? Is it like a midnight blue (my BMW) metallic that go from brilliant shining blue in full daylight to black at night? Is it much different from Aventurine green in later 993?
Thanks for any and all info-Hoi

Car was formerly owned for almost 10 years by Richard Bauer (Rixter is his handle on Rennlist). Very knowledgable long-time Rennlister from the early years who found the car - he immediately understood the rarity of this 928 once he found it. He has some history on the car, most notably that it was originally special ordered by a NY Doctor. The Doctor had an early 911 in 'Nachtgrun' and loved the color so much he special ordered the 928 in 'Paint to Sample' Nachtgrun to match. Roger tyson tells me at the time it was a $15k option to have PTS!
Rixter had the car a number of years, called the car "Grun Hai", and seemed to have a lot of fun with it over the years. I always found the '1 of 1' color to be interesting, and the color combo with GrayGreen interior plus the special order options was so cool and rare in my eyes that when the car became available jumped on it.
It had quite a few deferred maintenance items that were addressed immediately by Jim Doerr in VA. I flew in to meet with Jim and drove the car home. Went to Frenzy 2015 with the car and had a front tire wear issue due to horrible alignment - bought tires at Frenzy in DC and then gave the car over to Stan (Mr Merlin) - I bought his Weissach from him on the side of the road so he could take the Nachtgrun car home for some R&R with Stan for a couple months of wrenching and fixing multiple systems and going over the entire car. Towed car back here, got the alignment straightened out, finally got the car 'right'. Then my back issue arrived and now selling one (and maybe another!) to apply the $$ toward purchase a commercial property both to house the 928 collection and provide income since now I'm unable to work on a daily basis.
If you want a 928 that will always be ONE OF ONE, and really stand out from the crowd, now is your chance. Fully sorted and a great driver. Really hate to do it but it's gotta be sold.

That car is downright beautiful...and this is coming from an OB guy's prespective that doesn't normally eye these cars.
Good luck with the sale! Hope she brings top doller...well...unless I bid on her...then I hope it stalls out...and I find myself driving a beauty like her for pennies on the dollar..
Brian.

Thanks! Looking for a five speed so I'm out but that sure as heck is one nice, unique, and well-sorted 928. So few of them are truly turnkey...but this one certainly is!!!

So originally I was told by the PO (Rixter) that there were about 110 'Graugrun' (Gray Green) interiors made. I spoke with Bob Budd today from Clasic 9 Interiors who notes that in his estimation there were 12-24 cars worldwide with gray green. Anybody have any firm numbers (or even an estimate) on the # of Graugrun 928 out there?

Do you mean gray green interiors for all years?
I'd guess a lot more than a couple dozen.
I have one.
There's a thread on it (started by Rixter):
