Put a plug kit in the frunk. Used mine last year on a 305 (only 1 in the last 17 months).

Yup got a nail in mine at 4k miles, right rear. Luckily the TPMS went off as I was driving into my driveway. Had to replace the tire.

BTW I thought using a plug was not a good idea.

Is there particular times when not to use the plug? The local tire shop usually makes the assessment and advises me. I think once they put a patch on a different car. Sometimes they tell me to just get a new tire.

Patch is ok as long as the puncture isn't on the side wall. Plug is a temp fix and can't be trusted for high speed cruising. Don't know if I would trust a patch either.

What do you think about the plug for the location of the nail in my tire pictured above?

A plug is a temp fix. I carry them in all my cars. It's best that you remove it and patch when possible.

Picking up the car today! Looks like it was a small nail in the LR tire. Dealer plugged it & I'm good to go. I don't have much left as far as tread goes on the rears so I'll be replacing them with a set of Super Sports soon.

Plugged it or patched it? Most patches installed from the inside also have a plug component. Difference is, they also include the patch and it is installed from the inside of the tire. Hard to believe that a Porsche dealer would plug the tire. They usually don't even like to patch them.

That nail is awfully close to the sidewall for a plug.

Just about any one form any autoparts store. You'll also need a pair of needle nose pliers to be able to remove the object from the tire.

Have you ever plug a tire before? On a low riding 911?? Practice, and practice again. It takes herculean strength. Even with the wheel removed. I'd say conservatively, you need to be able to bench press 225, squat 315, and curl 85. This is real man's work. This is why I have the manservant.

Happy to hear you're on the road again. Sewickley cares for enough cars that I'd be fairly confident in anything they are comfortable with. I look forward to seeing you on the road again soon!
