Where does this black wire on the back of the HVAC go?

Default Where does this black wire on the back of the HVAC go?

'78 US car This wire comes off the back bottom left of the HVAC controler as viewed from the drivers seat. Picture was taken from the drivers side footwell from the gas pedal area

looks like non-stock wiring in there. Those aren't Porsche connectors.

Those look more like the fiber optics from inside the AC controller. Did they get pulled out from the AC head unit?

The black on is a fibre optic line and should go into one of the switches in the HVAC unit most likely.

i wasn't sure but it didn't look factory to me either.

Fiber optics? really I had no idea this car had any fiber optics.

Hmm? but if is attached to the back corner of the controller already , why would the end that is off go back to the same contoller?
maybe I need to get the whole unit out and take a closer look.

Aha! I get it!! the fiber optics go to the illuminated sliders ***** and such. So this loose wire can not be the cause of my AC problem.
