Crazy thought: What if Porsche only offered a stick 991.2 GT3, and left the PDKS for the GT3RS?
Marketing wise, having the 4L engine in both 3 and RS doesn't make sense, unless one of them offers a manual.
Or, no 991.2 GT3RS, only a turbo GT2RS...

When .2 GT3 will be announced, .1 RS and R will be out of production old models.
.2 GT3RS should be faster than .2 GT3, sure. But no marketing purposes will be harmed if new GT3 will be faster than old RS. The opposite - it will be a great marketing.

I disagree with the notion that this motor is "better suited" to the PDK. Sure, for outright pace and speed, PDK allows you to be faster, but just reading the reviews on the R, it is clear it uses the same ratios through 4th gear, and pulls as hard (or harder) because of even less power loss through the manual drivetrain. Also, with the lightweight single mass flywheel, it probably feels electric in the lower gears, because the LWFW will be lighter than the PDK version.
So it seems like it is every bit as enjoyable to drive, so "better suited" is perspective, just like your choice in transmission.
Let's face it, if you are in the market for a manual GT3 at this point, it's not because you want to win your DE or set FTD at the autocross....it's simply about preference at this point.

However, your argument seems to be that the manual will be optimized and engineered to be a match for the GT3 (and therefore a great manual). And to that, I would say I damn sure hope it is. But that argument to me is like saying "the manual is great because it wasn't just crudely lifted from a Cayman GT4".
The primary reason I think motors like these are better suited to dual-clutch autoboxes is because they make very little torque, so they are much slower around town if you find yourself in the wrong gear and can't quickly downshift. The more torquey motors are best suited to manuals, IMHO.
No doubt, it's a subjective / personal choice and there's not a bad way to go. I could pretty much guarantee that both options would be exceptionally good. While I know there would be many times I would miss the manual, I'd probably pick the PDK if I end up having the good fortune to order one.

Yeah the R sounds terrible with a manual and I've heard the few that have tested it complained they can't keep up with the shifting because the engine revs so fast. They also said the R would be so much better with pdk.

Here was the 991.1 GT3 RS tach used in the press cars and the launch marketing video. This was the day of release and yes it reved to 9k in the video. Just don't do anything dumb that you might regret because you convinced yourself the mule was 100% correct on the future...
