Default Centre lock nut weirdness

Hello all. My centre lock nuts have discoloured a weird, mottled white-grey. See picture below. It's very noticeable against the black rims, and distinctly unattractive. I have been enjoying the car on track, and wonder if the wheels getting hot have led to this? However I can't imagine they're meant to discolour like that regardless of track use. Any thoughts?

It's your wheel cleaner. Use soap and water.

I remove my wheels and clean after every track weekend. But I'm a bit OCD

Mine did the same thing. Got them replaced under warranty and have since modified my cleaning routine.

Those things are anodized. Many wheel cleaners will attack them. Use soap like car soap or dawn only. Dawn if you want to strip all wax.

Or if you are cleaning the grease and use a citrus cleaner/degreaser, don't let the cleaner on the surface. It will do the same thing.
