Default Dundon GT4 Development Update!

Hi Guys,

Here's the lego mockup of the headers on the GT4!

The GT4 collectors are still pending arrival, hopefully tomorrow. Until then we're using a set from our 997.1 GT3/RS system for mockup. We expect gains similar to our 997.1 GT3/RS system before the tune!

Very cool! I never knew this is how it's done. How do you translate the lego to the metal? Is there a way to digitize it or something?

You could digitize it with a scanner, but honestly at that point you'd scan the entire bay and do it all in Solid Works or the like.

This is a nice way to visualize on the car how to put them through penetrations, air spacing, etc.

The header legos help to show the radius of the bends and length of the straights. We don't always do them this way, but it does help with routing... All of our other systems have been made by cutting and tacking bends on the car.

Thanks for sharing this phase of production. It's interesting see how you model the headers.

Finally got the collectors and Charles has been getting the total lengths where he wants them. Good news is we're able to get more length than we expected. We'll be testing a couple of versions and tricks we've learned from the testing on the 996/7/991 versions we've done.

It's coming together.

Thumbs up

Indeed - very cool to see this through the development stages. Subbed and watching intently. Hope these turn out well! I'll be purchasing something along these lines within the next several months here.

Sport headers with a weight reduction in the rear plus additional hp. You have to like that combo.
