Geez, with all the people bitching about being unable to find a car, having to pay a premium, etc., this thing should have been sold already. If I was single I'd be on my way to Home Depot right now for the lumber to frame out an addition on the garage...

Odds are that many of those people likely moved on... Can't blame them either considering the games the stealerships were/are playing.
If I didn't already have one, I'd scoop this car up. carbon brakes, buckets, etc. Yeah, it's $112k, but at least it's a $112k list car and not a $102k list car with a $10k market adjustment.
Unfortunately, this is the case for me. I'm looking to spend $95K tops on one. If it were in that range, I'd already be on my way to ATL lol
I think this is one of the reasons dealers have held onto allocations and/or specced some themselves. They don't make enough money on stripper cars. When I was talking to my SA about taking their last allocation and he indicated that they could drop the markup a fair bit for me as a repeat customer, he wasn't excited to hear that I was planning a stripper build and I'm guessing that markup drop would have evaporated if I really wanted the car.

Exactly. And alot of those marked up are already pre-owned w/ miles! This is brand spankin' new. No brainer.
How did you manage this? Were you emailing every dealer you could? Was the allocation already locked and someone backed out?

Seems that someone backed out of a build. I was able to get it changed to my specs.
...and yes, I called around to a ton of dealers.
When I finally asked why the dealer called me back first, he said "you sounded like a normal guy who would be easy to work with and I wanted to give an enthusiast a chance at getting a GT car."
I track my Audi S4 regually. This is my first Porsche. I keep telling everyone it's entry-level.
