I would want to know who did the repair before I was comfortable running it. Welds can be a lot like make up - making appearances way better on the surface, but you're still not sure what things look like underneath...
If I was driving a pickup and strapped for cash, I'd probably put this on. But on a Porsche with not much sidewall height, I'd pass. *shrug*
Sometimes free things are an amazing find; sometimes giving something away is the last ditch effort before you just toss it into the garbage, and you don't really know which one you've got here...

I'd have to disagree with this characterization... While make-up sits on top of whatever it is you're trying to hide or make look better - more like paint or bondo, etc... For a weld to look like those do, you need proper heat, lack of oxidants/oxidation, and proper flow - which you can actually see evidence of in the weld itself. If these conditions aren't right, there's no way the welds look like that. Granted to get a true "inside view" you'd need to x-ray the weld, but we're only talking about street use here...

They are beautiful welds - no argument here. I still wouldn't want to run it unless I knew more about the repair job.

I thought the BMW hose reel came with the next-gen iWater interface that makes it impossible to actually get water to come out the hose...

It's fine. Weld looks quite good. Check the inside lip where the tire seals. It should be ground flush with the adjacent metal so the tire bead will seal. Mount a tire, put 40PSI in it, then put some soap/water solution on the tire bead where it meets the rim, and dab around the welds. Check for sealing and good to go.
Very nice clean weld. Just grind down the bead area and it's good to go.
