Default 996 GT3 Cup rear tow hook/Rear bumper questions

I purchased a full GT3 cup exhaust system and rear bumper.
For those of you who have rear cup bumpers, what have you done about the tow hook hole? Is there a way to install the factory cup rear tow hook? If so, would you mind sharing where you purchased them and what you had to do to make it work? I've tried searching and have not had much luck. Thanks in advance.

Mine was blanked off when it was installed. Not idea if you cant get access to the front tow hook at the track but its a little less inconspicuous on a street car.

The 'real' cup tow hook bolts onto the rear bumper support. The bumper cover has a matching hole... And yes - it was designed to not run with the bumper...

Ray, are you saying that it mounts to where the bumper support mounts? Is there a way to make it work with keeping the bumper support on? As much as I would really like the weight savings, I'd hate to get rear ended and have my motor get damaged.

Actual weight savings is probably no more that ~20lbs, but yes that is exactly what I am saying - you remove the supports, and on one side you bolt up the hook.

Not sure if you have fitted things yet, BUT that bumper and the cup bumper cover won't line up. I was looking to solve this problem, and need to shorten the standoffs - which I just have not yet done. I have the same setup on my car...

Also - not sure which cup muffler you have - but there is loud (103db) and really loud (110db) - the p/n will tell you which you have...

I got my bumper from member North Coast Cab and it fits perfectly. Getting it painted as we speak.
The muffler has a 997 part #. It was pretty loud running it down the street (In a good way though)

Ray, I have the genuine motorsport bumper too but the alloy bumper re-enforcement bar was handed to me separately when I purchased the car. I have been meaning to re-fit it. Are you saying this re-enforcement does not work with the cup bumper or are you talking about another part?

It looks like we have different parts. Folks tend to fab up a crash bar to use in lieu of the OEM bumper, I have not figured out how to combine the OEM bumper and the rear tow hook assemble... Now my arrangement is the 996 part and it seems like you have the 997 part, so there will be differences.

I will try and find some pictures of my rear bumper cover off and show how things are connected.

There is a place to attach the stock tow hook behind the license plate. I have a 997.2GT3 exhaust.

That looks wild Chuck. Is that the carbon Motorsport bumper or Getty? Are you running the bumper re-enforcement bar behind the bumper skin? I need to fit mine as I worry in the event of a rear end accident with the engine completely I protected. Just not sure if it fits with the cup bumper.

It is the Getty bumper. It does have the rear bumper bar across the back. That is the part that has the threaded hole for the tow hook. I removed the bumperette reinforcements, and re-used the heat shielding. The Getty fiberglass bumper needed quite a bit of work...
