Default CCU removal problem

I am trying to remove my CCU from my RHD C2, I got it released all right and I can push it to move forward from behind but the turn signal arm of the steering column block it's way out. What should I do next? Mine is a RHD C2.
Cheers.

Funny. I just did this yesterday. Mines LHD, but it was difficult for me also. You just have to wiggle it in between the two stalks & start to pull it away from the steering column as you pull it out.

And as Tore Bergvill writes on his excellent homepage, protect de lower dash with a towel!

The contacts for the wires are a little tricky the first time! the have a little catch or whatever on one side, but the oposite side on the other one!

So just wiggle it out? I don't know, it doesn't seem to have enough space to me. I hate to break the signal arm.
Cheers.

Another thought, if it's really that tight. It may be possible to remove the faceplate w/controls (mine seem to come off before I had the unit out) after its out a little & that will give you more room to pull the unit out.

My 993 also RHD, i remember when i pull the CCU out, it need to keep pull the the turn single arm upward and hold it than slower pull the CCU forward out. It is doable.

I just removed mine yesterday. Painters tape on the lower dash and stalks. Removed loop in bundled cable from down near the accelerator pedal.

Used radio removal tools to get it started then when the clips were free wiggled it out. Raised the wiper stalk as high as possible and pulled the CC stalk forward and there was room.

Clips are a PITA and the connectors are tight!

Just need to check the wiring for any faults so that I can say 100% for sure that it's the CCU at fault before I put in my spare one and send the old one off to Tore to fix.
