Does anyone know what the correct shocks/springs are for a 1980 Euro S with sport suspension. According to the buildout on the VIN decoder the car is only one of 29 with the "M474 shock absorber (sporting) front and rear" any ideas if these are Bilsteins or Koni's? Car is currently sitting low and there are no adjustment collars on the front. Rear is adjustable but currently at lowest setting. Shocks are green and appear to be original to the car. Sorry for the dirty pics but I haven't been able to clean the car. I'd like to know what they are so I can order new or have these rebuilt.

Are Green Bilsteins still available? Can they be rebuilt with the Bilstein program?
Are all spring the same for a non "sporting shock" car and a M474 car? looks like my springs are cut up front for lowering at some point, need to replace them but no sure with what to go with.

Green is p/n 92834305505 front, 92833305112 rear

And gold is later Bilstein (84>) p/n 92834305506 front, 92833305112 rear

Springs for Bilstein were different to Boge springs on the front but the same on the rear.
I will do some checking in the am.

Since 92A0801059 is first one to have M474 option it probably means option only became available very late in '80 MY.

Emailed Bilstein - they can repair the rears, but they are not sure of the fronts - anybody have one that they can check the BILSTEIN part number on - I have the Porsche numbers but the rebuilders only know the Bilstein number and cannot cross reference. The Bilstein number should be on the top eye. I would take mine out and peek but I've gotten a pretty bad back injury so I'm out of doing any heavy stuff for a while..

Also any luck on the spring part number for the fronts?

My 83 Euro has M474 on it. Gold Bilsteins. Also did not have height adjuster perches on the front, but does on the rear. I replaced the front shocks many moons ago, and they came with adjustable perches. Ride height was down to ~145mm! I had the rears refurbed a few years ago, took them 2 tries to get one of them right - there is a test in the WSM for correct function off the car, and one failed it. Dealer moaned about the fact that the bottom eye is at an angle to the body - not my problem I told him. The spring specs should be in the little Tech Specs booklet.
