This is why I'm so fortunate as a Porsche owner to be able to call SoCal my home :-D
Yes you are ... it's a trek for me, but always fun. Imagine if you drove from Canada!

To our Canadian friends, this thread's now dedicated to you.
SoCal needs to be moved closer to the border; maybe a couple times a year?
in my opinion the Stan Townes Speedster is the most pure, most inspirational Speedster ever created on a 911. Kind of like the Doane Spencer '32 Roadster.
LUV your style
Fun memory was CA car show where a fan walked up & we talked about Stan's 1967 Speedster.
He'd seen it parked near the beach & just loved that it was still being enjoyed in SoCal.
...similar to this 2006 blog by tourists that stumbled across it.
It was for sale in 2009.
Current owner's in the Midwest, & has done a wonderful restoration, documenting much, & met with Mr. Townes in person.
So many images of rare & custom Porsche Speedsters on my computer that 1 day I hope to start a RL thread. Submitted 1 related post on the "Speedster type 993 photo thread." Didn't garner momentum, but would be fun for long-hood Speedster fans, etc.
35 images of the Townes Speedster alone on my computer.
It has led a life of its own. 'Before' & 'after' pics from its long journey once it was already a Speedster:
As perfect as Stan's 911 Speedster is from the front, perhaps meatier haunches help balance proportions from the rear...
