Default Went and drove the 991.2 and they gave us one to take home :)

Plus a cool 2016 calendar.

Porsche Nashville had a nice little reception and PCA had a good turn out for some tech talk and an up close and personal poking around and under on a new 991.2.

The car I drove was a 2017 C4S Cab / PSE / PDK / Sport Chrono

The new engine is soooooo smooooth and 991.2 PSE sounded good if not better than the 991.1 PSE

The size of the 918 inspired steering wheel is pretty nice and the new PCM looks fantastic.

Nice! I was there early this AM dropping my 991.1 for service. Saw the grey 991.2 cab out front - looked nice!

Can you comment on the sounds of the 991.2 PSE further? Are you comparing a 991.2 CAB (top down) PSE to 991.1 with out PSE coup? I find your comment hard to believe and I am trying to reconcile. Is this a apples to apples comparison?

Top was up windows open during the drive.

Just being around the car at idle .... it sounded really good.

My 991.1 C4S is also PDK w/ PSE and the 991.2 PSE sounds just as good if not better.

Thanks for that. The exhaust note is the only part of this package that I am concerned about.

I am flying down to Atlanta to drive a 991.2S on their track before I buy. I need to see, hear, and feel this car before I pull the trigger.

BTW: PEC Atlanta just got the new 991.2S for use two days ago. 991.2 C2S and C4S.

I don't trust the reviews of any auto rag that relies on a good relationship with the car manufactures to sustain their livelihood. I trust real world owners like yourself.

Had a 2-hour test drive today with the 991.2 (also with PSE) and I was disappointed with the sound of PSE. BUT, big BUT: I loved the sound without the PSE, there is really a small difference, too small in my eyes. My wife was sitting next to me and she had nevern known when the PSE was on or off, then I also asked her, both times in a tunnel with windows open and acceleration - she also told me, that the sound was better with PSE off. Then I asked the salesman, he told me, that with ordering the car with standard exhaust, the sound will be a little bit better/louder than with "PSE off". Does any body have experience with the standard exhaust?

I drove a base cab with PSE today. I think the PSE does sound nice and certainly a lot closer to the sound of the epic NA engine. However I am not as fixated with the sound as some other fellows on this forum. I am ok with having put those $ in other options that were more important *to me*... It will certainly appeal to those for whom the sound is critical... Those people will not want the car without it...

I guess I'd have to drive one myself but I don't believe Turbo would sound better. Maybe you liked it because it was different?

I liked it because the pop and crackle of the PSE was *closer* to the NA sound... Not identical, but closer... In any case not a must have for me... But most people will disagree with me...

I have tested the PSE in many RPMs and many different speeds, sometimes you don´t even notice, that it is ON. The biggest difference for me is, when standing and playing with the gaspedal and turning it ON/OFF. The difference is not that big as many comment, just my 2 cents The car is phenomenous!

I would agree somewhat with that... I noticed the difference when coming off the throttle... The pop and crackles were more noticeable with PSE on... However, it was a very short drive... So I may reach a different conclusion with a much longer more detailed drive in the future...

I drive the 991.2 s today. The sound is different. It is more muffled. And it doesn't have the crecendo that 991.1 s has. I think the Rebecca Jackson review is spot on with her assessment.

I was at the dealer Friday in the service dep't. When they pulled my car in the drive after washing it there was an Agate 991.2 with PSE that hadn't been there when I pulled in. The service guy pulled my Agate .1 in right next to the .2 so I was able to get a nice direct comparison. I really like the rear of the new one--the lights, the reflector strip between them and especially like the new engine grill. The PSE exhaust looks great. The doors stood out for the new door handle treatment. The front looks good--no better than the .1 but very nice. I didn't get a look inside yet.
Wednesday is the unveiling so I'm going to pop over and take one for a drive.

Quick Reply: Went and drove the 991.2 and they gave us one to take home :)
