Stan, the sanding is key. You definitely ended up with a better result even if you only used the 1500. A lot of folks use just the compound and polish and that just doesn't allow a result that lasts.

I hear you, I assume the compound/polishing should be the final surface finishing not the first and only step. We know, headlamps are subject to a sandblasting effect over time so you are right, the wet sanding is the critical step...but not for the faint at heart, a screw up here could be costly.... for our Porsches, when in doubt seek out a Pro.
