Some Good News For Le Circuit
The long standing case against the track brought by Jim Iredale regarding noise finally got to the Supreme Court of Canada. It was dismissed with costs - meaning Iredale has to pay the costs. Fitting I think since he built more than 20 years after the track opened on land located only a few hundred meters from T2.
Let's hope this discourages others who would try to close it.

Yes. It's like saying, let me build a man made lake to promote my city, only to have someone sue me 20 years later because he doesn't like all the Canadian geese flocking to it. I suppose, one can make a killing selling ear plugs in the area.

I am sure Lawrence et al use inexpensive lawyers...
Good news indeed. I wouldn't build a cottage ON the track either. Or a house at the end of an airport runway. Or next to a quarry. Or...
Cheers

There were 3 different lawsuits against the track.
So there are 2 remainings. I guess that one of the 2 remaining will be over soon, as the Iredale case was dismissed.
The one that is still ongoing and has more chances of staying alive is the Class Action. That is a whole different story.

This is how I see it, and I am far from being a lawyer. BUT, if the "noise" has caused any of the parties physiological damages (hearing loss directly resulting of being within the 3 km zone of the track or the sudden hair loss in their noses due to the smell of burning rubber) than maybe they have a chance. Common sense prevails. My opinion, if they loose their class action suit, those properties better not sell higher than the asking "market" value. We can definitely form a direct link with "Le Circuit" and why their properties have increased in value since 2009
