Time-sert headstud kit for 951
Does anyone have/have any experience with the time-sert headstud kit (universal M12/1.5)? I need to time-sert some head studs and the kit looks great but is ~ $400.00. The inserts are only $32.00. I am concerned that the universal drill/tap might not be long enough to work on the 951 cylinders; if so it would be a waste of $ .
Anybody use one? if it works anybody have one for sale or rent? Any other solutions?
TIA,
Paul

Salut Paul,
I did the 10 studs in my 951 engine (in car) with the Time-Sert kit a few years ago. It was time consuming but It work well for me and it still holding (my torque spec is ±90 lbs). I had to build an extension for the drill/tap/insert-tool.
I have the kit at the shop but I don’t know if I still have the modified extension. I don't know any other solution for this type of repair.
Note: I not sure if I used the 24 or the 30mm "sert" for this job.
