That's nice to hear as I'm the poster boy for being afraid of offending people by misusing what I remember from elementary school French class.

That being said, I did successfully order a sandwich at the Subway in Chicoutimi last year! Although the girl behind the counter did revert to English near the end of my order after seeing how badly I was struggling with the names of the toppings...

Yeah that is also a bad reflex we have, if someone tries to speak french and isn't perfect, instead of letting him try we have a tendency to switch to english so he doesn't feel bad.

If your lucky you find someone who doesn't speak a word of english, and that could have well been the case in Chicoutimi.

Aw Paul....now I feel kinda all fuzzy inside...

The beauty of our great country is the bilingualism and multiculturalism that exists within and gives it that uniqueness that other countries can only dream about having.

Without these fine qualities, we'd just be another state (Not that there's anything wrong with that...)
