Hey, the only reason I know this is because I was charged +$100 a couple weeks ago when confirming my registration for Tremblant that I had initiated well over one month prior.
This was on top of the full rate, despite the fact it was my 3rd RSR event of the season, which is totally understandable given my late registration...... It was the +$100 that rubbed wrong....
No amount of gentle reasoning or questioning with Nicole G. could sway her stance on the "POLICY".......
However in the end, ......
"the quality of the experience remains a fond memory long after the price is forgotten"
........is very true!!

As far as I know registration used to close several weeks before the event. Which meant that you could not register in spite of the fact that there was room. Seemed rather odd to me.
That changed and late registrations are now allowed but there is a penalty for same, i.e. $100. Better than denying someone admittance I guess. There are a ton of good reasons for encouraging early registration. It sure makes things easier on the volunteers who do all the work before and during the event. ever wonder why the tech line runs smoothly - the tech line chief has a list of everyone attending, their info and run group. This list prepared by a volunteer in great detail in his/her spare time.
The situation with novices is even more critical how many can we accept? That depends on the number of instructors and or track limits (LCMT only). I could go on but that's the gist and I doubt the exec will waive late fees anytime soon.
Best,

That's only my point of view, though. Maybe I'm missing some information to make that kind of jugement.

If there were no late fees, many more would register late.
I would try that too - I'd skip Rainsport events and just attend the sunny ones! That's just how it is and how people think.
I think it's both reasonable and necessary to have such a policy, even if it is an inconvenience for the few who legitimately cannot commit 2 weeks in advance from time to time. Just my $0.02.
Best,
Matt

Not completely Matt. The multi-event discount should be reason enough to register early, and forgoing this discount with a late registration should be penalty enough...... Combining the 2 penalties (no multi event discount of up to 25% + $100 late fee) just seems excessive.....
But I accept it
But I accept it
I totally agree with that point of view.

Peter, it's a carrot and stick. Register for multiples and get a discount. Register late and pay the fine.
Sadly in your case you ignored the carrot and get to pay the fine. Next year register for mutiples on time and get even

Bob, I understand and accepted it gladly in Tremblant.
It just seemed excessive when a pre-registered multi-event member (me) had to make a last minute confirmation to add yet another date, and where there was room to participate.....and essentially gets penalized twice because of "The Policy".
Ok, I'm done... LOL... Just having a little whine with my grouse!
See you on Friday!
