Bring my 1997 C4S from USA to UK?
I am currently living in the USA and have a 1997 C4S - LHD - and was wondering if it makes sense, with an impending move to the UK, to import the car, or sell up and start again?
Key concerns would be:
1. Import paperwork, taxes, registration issues
2. US value about $50-55k, UK value for a LHD...?
3. Living with a LHD
4. Difficulty of re-sale
I would appreciate the advice.
Nick
PS: Looking forward to some warm beer again!

Hi Nick
I imagine you will get a lot more feedback posting this again on the main 993 forum as the traffic is much higher.
In answer to one or two of your questions:
A LHD 97 C4S seems to be worth around the £33K ($60K) mark here dependant on milage etc.
As far as selling is concerned, the LHD market is smaller but there are less LHD cars for sale so as long as the price is correct it will sell.
I run a LHD 911SC & have no problems even though I drive a RHD car all week!
If you are going to use the 993 every day all the better because you won't be grabbing for the gear lever on the wrong side as I do on occasion :-)
Overtaking is "interesting" but thats probably the only real minus.
As for shipping & associated costs I don't know.
What part of the UK are you moving to?

Doug,
Tried the 993 Board and got only a few takers. Might try again.
Probably going to move into the South East, with access to London. Been reading the UK mags over here, looks like a lot of activity around track-days and various events across the country.
Looking forward also to some Autobahn action hopefully in the near future.
