Default Windshield Replacement

I'm needing to replace my windshield and checking to see if there are any shop recommendations in South Florida, specifically Palm Beach County area. I'm looking to replace with OEM glass.

Not sure if you've already got your answer, but mine was replaced in June at Champion in Pompano. Drew was a great SA and I got to thrash a Macan for 4 days. I beat up my insurance until they covered the $3500 for 2016 911.

I immediately had it PPF'd at House of Wrapz.

Default Mike's Auto Glass -Ft Meyers / Sarasota

I had a loose rear view mirror in 2023 911t. called mikes glass , they recommended i come in so they could take a look. i drove up this morning and while i was waiting for the tech to evaluate the issue, a real friendly guy was explaining how the coffee/ candy / wifi etc worked so i asked him if he was the owner or just a really unlucky customer that beaks a lot of windshields- turns out it was "mike". great guy- turns out he just purchased a 991.2 and spent 30 minutes just chatting about his business, their capabilities etc.
here is the recap:
- locations in sarasota and ft meyers , but fairly large mobile fleet and they can come to you if you have a garage with area to work

-they "get" porsches and other exotics. he started as a tech years ago working in an exotic shop

- they take pride in their work

- his son is a tech , and they like to hire young guys and train them "their way"

- he does work for some of the local porsche dealers, you can probably guess which dealers.

he is where i would go for all my glass. good shop, good guy.

btw - my windshield needs to be replaced, he said the metal clip that holds the mirror had detached. this clip is pre bonded to the windshield. they said they have tried reattaching with epoxy but it does not last......

Thanks for the replies. I ended up having safelite do the job with OEM glass. They did ask that it be done at their physical location vs. having a mobile tech do it. All went well.

curious - why did you have to negotiate with insurance . i thought in florida it is zero deductible for windshield replacement? did they want you to use non- oem supplier , or their preferred shop?

i have lightweight glass so i don't think there is non oem option for windshield.....

They wanted to use their non oem shop. They said the comp rate for labor was $27 an hour! They also balked at paying for an alignment. I did not want to use safelite.

I used Safelite and non OEM glass. I track my car often and the windshield gets beat up fast. No complains will do it again with them.

I'm in the same boat, mine is pitted really bad on a 2009 Carrera and insurance won't cover it. It's considered deterioration to due age not a single impact or crack. Are the oem windshields soft and an aftermarket brand would be better? I'm trying to figure out a reputable shop and may call mikes glass. Do they have a location around palm beach county? I'm in Boca Raton and have to pay out of pocket, trying to find the best way to go about it. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

scratch that, they only have locations on the other coast, I thought there was one on the east coast. If anyone knows anything between west palm and Miami please let me know.

thank you
