Hi Everyone,

My friend and I are officially heading down to Daytona for next years 24. Any suggestions places to stay, things to do? We are planning on going down Thursday morning and leaving Sunday after the race (Back to Canada). Plan right now is to Turo a Boxster or something and stay just outside of Daytona because of course every hotel there is booked already!

TIA!

You should take a day and go to Miami Beach

...and when you get there it ain't the Miami Beach it used to be. Avoid. If you want to do a drive, St Augustine is nice and Palm Beach if you want more metro experience.

I drove over last year on Thursday, had an infield pit pass. It was a good day, but this year I’m just going to set the DVR.

The whole event is a super cool experience. For me one of the important things is to get a parking pass (infield preferred) so you can come and go easily as it is a LONG race with lots of weather variations. I will usually arrive early on Saturday, depart for dinner, drive back for some night action until I get too cold, then return Sunday for the finish.
- Porsche Club hosts a hospitality tent at the Corral which typically has guest speakers pre-race, and TV during the race. And, some cool cars in the corral such as the Lowenbrau liveried Cayman
- Chart house on the water is a great spot for dinner on Thursday or Friday night.
- Yes Thursday is worth it. And, lots to do and see other than racing. Lots of displays in the infield. Full access to garages is pretty amazing in this day and age.
There are accomodations North of Daytona and driving in is no big deal unlike a sporting event or concert there is no time specific rush.

Again, try to get a parking pass, it will make it a much better experience.

Yeah, stay in Palm Coast or St. Augustine areas and drive the 30-40 minutes down, fast vie I-95 or slow via A1A.

Those going to the 24 enjoy. We were at the roar last weekend. What a great event! The GTP cars are fast. The caddy’s are a tough challenge for the 963s. There were 4 963s entered but one didn’t qualify due to crash. The Penske Porsche team, 2 cars, and customer JDC from MN did qualify. Should be a great event. GO JDC!

Hey All,

We ended up staying in Daytona and the whole weekend was amazing! We ended up just parking at the Mall across the street and walking every day. Lots of Porsches in the mall parking lot lol

Will definitely try and come back next year!
