Default Best driving roads in Florida

I know, I know. We're not in NorCal. No canyon runs. Just wondering if folks have been able to find reasonably peaceful nice drives. Ideally backcountry runs and don't want to run into too many bikers cops or gators. Won't say no to spots where I can launch a couple times without worrying about the neighbors

I'm based in South Florida and will take anything thats not I-95.

FAR from what I would call an exhilarating ride, it's always nice, and somewhat low stress, to cruise down the coast with the top dropped. Granted I did it yesterday in 95 degree heat, following a truck going 31 in a 35. Slow rollin'

I too would be interested in hearing if anyone has any rides that are not arrow straight, and flat as a board. Everything feels like a drag strip in SoFla.

There may be some "back roads" in central or north florida but certainly nothing in south florida unfortunately. I know we all get so jealous when we see people in the NE or west coast post their mountain drive pics.

Indian River Drive from Jensen Beach to Ft Pierce is a good one. Unfortunately the Speed Limit had just been dropped to 25MPH for the entire length...

There are some great roads near Clewiston and surroundings areas. I drive across SR-80 often for work. In addition, there are some twisty roads in the areas surrounding Winter Haven.

In Florida, especially S Fla it's not so much the road but the destinations and others with you that make the drive enjoyable. If you are in S Fla let me know with a PM and I'll let you know about a few of the drives my Porsche group does each month.

Personally, I go out with my buddies to Naples on a little run through US Hwy 41 its a two lane long stretch typically very few cars and passing lanes allow you to have fun as long as you have a radar detector and waze should have much slowing you down.

I'm in Naples and I can't think of where he is talking about. It's heavy traffic and light after light from Naples alll the way to North Cape Coral. After that a little stretch (very little) of open road untill you get near Punta Gorda. If you head East on 41 it's lights and traffic until you hit 951 and then you get open road all the way across 41 to Miami (DON'T speed on the reservation).

The drive I do in Naples is out Immokallee Rd to Oil Well then South on 29 down to Chokoloskee. Nice Cuban resturaunt there for breakfast and then I take 41 back in to town.

Havana Cafe in Choko. Super nice place to drive to when it turns cooler. I drive by Ave and down 29 such that I get there to open the place. Then drive in 41 to the dealership for their Preferred Customer breakfast if it's a Saturday.

Been there many times when we had a place in Naples. We now live in central Florida and have a lot of places to visit for lunch. Driving around here is a little better than SW FL.
