After 35 years in NY and NJ I just moved to Sarasota , first time in Florida !
If obviously the roads are not the same , I still want to use my 993 and I was wondering if there is some air cooled Porsches around ?

Attend the next C&C at the BMW dealership on Clark Road and at Suncoast Porsche. I don't remember which Saturday these are held - call the dealerships. There are lots of Porsches at these events and being outgoing should get you in the network.
