Default Group Drives / Meetups

For all of you in South Florida, looking to drive the car more now that things have normalized. What do you recommend for meetups, group drives, etc. I have a few buddies with cars. We get together once in a while and drive on Sunday mornings but nothing regular.

Hey guys, I am going to be new to the area very soon (Palm Beach). I am curios to know what kind of drives do you guys do?

For example, in PA we have some mountains and some windy backroads. Those are fun. Try to stay away from highways.

I'd be down for some drives but I always seems to have schedule conflicts. I'm in Broward.

Well if we don't end up linking with another group, I am happy to host something informal. As far as routes, you have to be creative in South Florida. Unfortunately, we just don't have the back country roads that some places have. Timing is everything to avoid traffic. I have found Sunday mornings to be the best. We have gone from FTL down to the art district in MIA to get coffee. It is also fun to go west on 595 all the way to Markham park and then hit some routes out west. I also have some routes that are in north FTL and have some curves to them. I don't go too crazy on public roads but there are some cool little spots to hit that are industrial in nature.

I am also taking a hard look at this trip to Tail of the Dragon coming up October 22-24. I see some of the members will trailer their cars. I bought the T to drive it and will drive and probably stop to see friends on the way up.

“all the way out” lol is where I live but I’m open to all your suggestions. Sunday mornings are occasionally good for me.

I would love to go out for a drive. I am in northwest broward. I get so envious when I see these great mountain/canyon back roads that so many people get to enjoy. Unfortunately nothing like that in south florida but hey at least we dont get any snow.

Haha yeah me too! There is a separate thread for Florida drivers headed to the Rennsport Dragon Rally 10-22 - 10-24-21, I just registered today and am planning to drive from South Florida. I am a gator also BTW. Finished accounting school there in 2001.

I will definitely do the dragon one day. It looks like so much fun! My in-laws have a place in Asheville so at some point ill bring my car up there to explore the fantastic mountain roads.

Funny I did accounting there as well. Finished the 3/2 program a few years behind you in 2008.

Graduated from the Fisher School in 1998…..Go Gators!

I’m surprised to see so many CPA’s in here!

Anyone a PCA member here or go to any of these “third Thursday of the month” meets? They have a new host location near me in coral springs I was thinking to check out.

Default Miami area monthly meetup

Last few months there have been about 100 Porsches from 2 912's and 356s to 992 GT3s each month. Its a good way to meet other owners, a few local Porsche enthusiast groups and drive events. This past weekend a regular attendee arranged a drive from.Broward to Schnebley Winery.
