Mechanical help North FL
Good evening all,
don’t know how to put this down but I’m having a problem with some repairs I’ve planned on my car, a 1995 993 carrera 2.
I have purchased:
- new brake pads
- new rotors
- new tie rods
- new bushings for lower control arms
- small spacers
After having my car on jacks and have good part of the parts removed (no wheels, no rotors...) my friend who has extensively worked on Porsche and was supposed to help me do the job in my shop, unfortunately had some personal issues and cannot help anymore in the short- medium term.
Needless to say that my technical expertise is not bad but on this specific car I’d like to have some Porsche experienced hands.
I’ve got an expert mechanic (trucks, tractors) working for me but he’s extremely busy at work and never worked on Porsches (although brakes and pads are all pretty similar among cars....some details make difference).
I don’t know if this may sound not appropriate or respectful towards other shops, dealers in the area ... but I was wondering if anybody knows a reliable and Porsche expert able to come and finish the job at my shop (got a farm with professional shop for maintenance of machinery).
Taking the car to a dealer or an Indy with the parts I’ve bought sounds bad too....it’s also true that every time I went parts were marked up more than 100% than online prices.
Hope somebody can help
I’m based in North FL on 75/10
thanks
