Myself, I never installed the mobile version. Just using the native version in the browser replicates the desktop experience.

You should be able to use the 'Go Advanced' button when posting to allow you to have access to the 'manage attachments' function.

Alternatively you can always upload pics to your profile web albums and then copy the URL and insert the URL of the pic into the post using the little 'postcard' icon.
