Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to present Jezebel.

For those of you who want the vital stats and pics:
1998 C2S / artic/blk / man. / 26K miles / original owner / $ 57.5 USD
Bypass the “story” and scroll to the pics.

For those of you with time to kill:

The Long Arduous Search.
As some of you know I have been searching for a Silver/Blk
C2S for about two years. Yes, two years is too long. Three
Reasons for two years:
1. I was not flexible with the parameters of my search.
2. The frequency of examples that fit my parameters was low.
3. I was impotent and hesitant to pull the trigger when an
opportunity presented itself, and so I lost out.

There was a small window of opportunity to purchase MrSullivan’s
beautiful C2S, and I missed out. Very painful and it haunted me,
and I decided that I was not going to let that happen again.

I continued my daily search on all the usual sites, and when a new
one appeared, I did not hesitate and I was the third person to
call the owner that morning (original owner, PCA, well-known and
respected industrial designer). After our lengthy conversation,
I verbally committed to a deposit, and the rest is history.

Upon reflection, all of the cars I was close to buying, or missed
out on, where PRIVATE sales. My first impression of every owner
was one of honesty and quality of character. As well, they all
struck me as straight shooters, not wanting to waste anyone’s time
with fluff, smoke and mirrors. You don’t get that at most dealers.

The Arrival.
I looked out the window, saw the big rig, TFX Intl on the side.
I scrambled around the house, looking for the camera and cheque.
I stood behind the truck and watched as the driver backed the
car out. My first look at Jezebel was a shot of her wonderful ***!
The sound of the engine and the way she slowly backed out
towards me caused my heart to skip a beat. I couldn’t believe
this was actually happening.

The Car.
The purposeful sound of the engine on startup, and
the car seems to have been very well cared for and the condition,
described by the prev owner as excellent, appears just that.
Two things that attracted my attention: the unique sound from
closing the door, and the purposeful sound of the engine on startup.
The door shuts with a mechanically solid sound pitch. My ears
pop everytime I close the door! The sound of the engine can
only be described as a mechanical symphony – so many layers.
I don’t even know if the stereo works, because I haven’t turned it
on yet!
Unfortunately, the extent of my first impressions is limited, as
I’m still in the process of registration and insurance, so I don’t drive
her very far from home and quite cautiously, because…

The Admission.
I’m scared of her.
I am not embarrassed to admit that I am intimidated by this car.
When both looking at, and driving her, I sense a DEFINITE
MEAN STREAK to her personality.
Of course, with time and familiarity, my feelings unworthiness
will subside!

The Time Eater.
This site has consumed enormous amounts of time. My girlfriend
tolerated it because she knew how important it was for me
to utilize a resource/community such as Rennlist. The problem is,
now that I have achieved the car of my dreams, I am on this site
EVEN MORE than before! There is just so much to learn. So
many knowledgeable people willing to share. I really do feel I
have a mild addiction, what with this need to “just check” the
discussion board with an unhealthy regularity. I just don’t want
to miss anything!

The Big ThankYou.
I truly feel priviledged to have access to a site like this, and people
like all of you. Specifically, I want to express my sincere appreciation
to David F, Dane, Tom, Richard and Jonathan.

I often find myself peeking into the garage before I go to sleep, just
to get another look at this beautiful car, this piece of art and history.
Even now, I still cannot believe how truly fortunate I am to be the
caregiver of this breathtaking automobile.
