You can always just edit out the comment you made. Find the post, click the edit button at the lower right, and delete the comment. You need to have a certain amount of text, so just type in the reason (e.g., "delete, user error")

i never understood why deleting your own post was disallowed. if i said or asked it, i should be able to delete it.
Because a member got all butt hurt and decided to delete many of his old threads that contained a lot of good info posted by others. So the Admins, in their wisdom, turned off that function rather than just banning the member.
Crap I don't seem to be able to delete or edit my posts, what's the best way to get a bit of admin attention?
use the triangle icon underneath the post to report it to the moderators with your request. this does not guarantee posts will be removed, but they will be reviewed and considered based on the context.
