951 engine block

951 engine block
have blown my 89 951 motor. Needs a new block on account of the holes caused by rods exiting...... can anyone tell me whether the 951 block is different to the other 944 blocks, so I can pull the remaining good bits off my motor & rebuild, or is the 951 block specific to the 951 only?
