What's with the hiccups?

What's with the hiccups?
Over the last several days, Rennlist has been hiccuping with very slow loads, posts hang up or just don't load and a lot of duplicate posts.
I know it's not me as the the rest of the internet works great and other user's are having duplicates posts.

Daniel - our database server has been pushing its limits late this week.
We have been looking into what is causing it, and outside of our initial suspicions of it being as a result of increased activity in the Politics and Controversy section with the recent Nobel prize announcement it appears we may be doing further modifications to our database server first thing next week to cope with the rapidly increasing size of the database.

I read three different forums and all I can say is my typical pattern is to open Rennlist. Then open separate windows for the other two, browse to a couple sub-forums on them, then come back to find Rennlist finally done "waiting." Then I open a thread on Rennlist, then open two or three threads on the others in the time it takes that one Rennlist thread to open. Really annoying, and it has been this way for a long time.
