OK, fourteen seconds to hit two links. This seems slower than normal, but made somewhat tolerable by using multiple windows. I guess I should modify my over-dramatic thread title. Sorry for the sensationalism.
Is there someone on here who can explain what is likely happening? How do you get all of that millisecond and routing address information? Did a tech fix something, or are we at the mercy of bandwidth strangulation and preferential routing conspiracy? News at 11...

I felt like giving up too since for the better part of last week this site was REAL slow for me.
Today it's not as fast as usual but as least usable.
Let's hope this isn't the norm...

I'd say that the folks who didn't have issue were on a verizon network/FIOS or those who aren't on that network are on a network with a priority peer to verizon. As it stands right now, the latency is on the verizon FIOS network -- with my latest tracert showing a 500ms improvement on the second to last hop.
Very tolerable right now, comparitively.
