Scam Ads Proliferating

For calling out a known shill that the mods were protecting, and musing that he might just be on the RL payroll. Which still appears to be the case. I learned the hard way that the mods really aren’t interested in protecting forum members. It’s all about the classified ad money.
Oh, and did that F8 Tributo ad get vetted at all? Seems potentially a little fishy.

Weird. This car is advertised on another site with different price and miles. First post too. Weird.

Hmmmm. First post…minimal information…
Some advice. Run a script that scans the marketplace for first post ads with one paragraph descriptions. 95% of them will be scams.

My ID was hijacked on this forum - I was not aware until a gent messaged me that he'd like to see the item that was for sale.
I called the guy wanting to see the item and then searched and found 2 items for sale - I first changed the posts to sold, added a comment to both ad's, changed my password , and told the moderators.
Unfortunately 1 item (durametric unit) was not caught by me, I did see PM's that were responded to early AM which I had not seen. I PM'd all folks that had responded to the ad to advise situation, but one person had sent funds...
Interestingly the ad's said items were in Philly but the zip code was TX. I'm not a seller of parts and I look infrequently at the site (maybe once a day) .... So buyer beware ...

I’d take a look at this one too.

Same account was selling a soul performance exhaust for this car (said he sold the GT3) last November. Now the car is for sale, with limited info and pics. And last ad was Vancouver WA and this one is Portland, OR. Could be legit, but seems odd.

I’ve been scammed 3x this year alone from hacked accounts
why not use some of our membership money towards some type of security for scammers
or make a person posting a for sale ad send a photo I’d to a neutral site
