📸 SEMA 2022 photo & video thread; ~ 420 pics 📸 📸
Friends in the industry who couldn't make it to the big show really appreciated these pics, tho they've often attended this huge annual event.
Especially for those who've never been, you may like a peak inside the velvet rope - even with my dirty cell phone lense and amateur snaps 📸
~420 pics of SEMA's big set-up day, before the facility was officially open to convention-goers
...plus shots of opening day.

Set-up day; behind the scenes pics B4 convention doors opened
...Starting with Porsches!
Only saw one 993 pre-positioned during set-up day --- the Gunther Werks Speedster:
Per Motortrend's "Porsche 993 Speedster Remastered By Gunther Werks Review: Add, Subtract, Then Add More" article:
"Huntington Beach, California-based Gunther Werks will build only 25 examples of the roofless wonder, and buying one will set you back $850,000, including the price of the donor Porsche vehicle. If you think that's too expensive, well, think again: All 25 are, predictably, spoken for."

From RLer Fabspeed Motorsport...
Fabspeed Motorsport is honored to reveal our most highly anticipated SEMA 2022 collaboration! This project has taken countless hours from all involved to design, engineer, and build a one-of-a-kind body kit for the 996/997/991 platform.
The Indecent, headed by Phillip Tieu and Sebastien Polit, is at the forefront of this modern resto-mod movement. Their company has tirelessly worked to create the ultimate version of the water-cooled Porsche. Phillip first contacted us in the summer of 2022 for their Porsche 997 Carrera 002 SEMA build. He knew Fabspeed has a reputation for building the best quality exhaust systems on the market, as well as our incredible research and development program for extracting the most performance potential out of any application.
After several talks and a careful analysis of the project goals for 002, we settled on a bespoke exhaust system consisting of some off-the-shelf components, such as our Rennsport Muffler, Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes, as well as some custom spec. parts (i.e. Modified headers). As some discerning readers may already know, our Rennsport Muffler and Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes are designed for the Porsche 997-991.2 GT3. 002 was designed for a center exit exhaust (not factory on 997 Carreras), and sports a VF Engineering supercharger, so we saw both the need and the opportunity to use a GT3-style exhaust system which would be able to handle the increased power from the VF Engineering supercharger all while still retaining a 'street' volume level. Our Rennsport Muffler is designed to have absolutely no drone when used with a Porsche flat-6 engine, and when paired with our Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes, it offers an adjustable sound level. With the flick of a switch, the driver can choose between a loud and aggressive cup car symphony or a tame and discrete cafe quartet.
A few other details unique to the 002 build are the bespoke polished logo plates that are welded atop the band straps. These are made in-house on our waterjet, and require the band straps to be captive underneath to properly display both Indecent and Fabspeed logos.
As with any passion project, it’s never finished. Future commissions of The Indecent 997 restomod will also feature 200 Cell HJS Catalytic Converters provided by Fabspeed as part of a complete exhaust package. This will ensure all production models will remain road legal while still maintaining excellent sound and performance.
