Can't post to general discussion

Hi folks,

I just registered, and activated (via the link in the confirmation email), but I'm unable to post to the General Discussion group. Is this intended?

I seem to be able to now. Not sure if it's just a time-based thing, or if a human did something, but one day it just "worked"
