Got it from several IB forums. I guess it has to do with allowing member emails except this vendor isn't one and isn't listed in the vendor directory either. Must be somebody that bought a list from IB.

Spam / Bad UI and out of so many years, i sign up - i never get my rennlist decals.
Rennlist has a lot of paying members so we don't have to live with spam. Lately also a lot of ads and funky characters showing on UI aswell.
I'm not sure if i'm going to be a paying member if this continues.Maybe time to request a membership refund on pure principle

So I can;t contact other members via PM as my account is too new but I can be spammed by this vendor and my email address can be sold to a number of 3rd parties? Pretty poor experience as a new user.

This is not indicative of any future direction for Rennlist. As a further point of clarification, the email was sent by internal IB staff, nobody external has access to member email addresses.
