I started the thread then forgot I started it! I agree with Joan Alcover's list. Most don't open until June. Lower passes like the Jaun Pass are open now, as well as great up/back valley roads that aren't passes. DM me if anyone is interested in getting a group together for a drive.
I wonder if the person who bought a black C2S from Greenwich, CT USA about 10 years ago is on this forum. The car had about 6k miles on it at the time and it was amazing. I'd live to see it today and how it has treated you. By the time I arrived at the dealership to see it, you had already (wisely!) placed your deposit.
Just moved to Vaud from the Netherlands, and own a 996 GT3 MK1.

A friend of mine will likely move from here, the US, to Switzerland next year in the Spring and would probably want to get into a 911 sooner rather than later. He has started to scope out the market but in chatting, we were wondering about the strength of the new car market (are there waiting lines on models such as C2S or C4S like in the US, do cars maintain their value or is it better to go the used / CPO route), on the type of cars that Swiss people like (we are
guessing AWD and PDK, but may be we are off base), whether it makes any sense to consider buying a car in Germany and then importing it in CH, etc. etc.

I have bought a 911 (991.2 Targa 4 GTS) and a Panamera (971 G2 4S e-Hybrid Sport Turismo) here in Switzerland. In both cases, I ordered a custom spec via a dealer and wait time was fine. I ordered the 911 on 10th Sept 2018 and it arrived on 11th January 2019. I ordered the Panamera on 27th August 2020 and it arrived on 4th December 2020. So, in both cases, around 4 months. Of course, neither model is in crazy demand like a GT3 or something like that.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to take delivery in Germany, which I would have preferred. Though I have driven both cars to Stuttgart to visit the Porsche Museum. Ordering and buying a car in Germany then importing into Switzerland would probably be quite a pain. You'd need to reclaim the German VAT then pay import tax and VAT in Switzerland, and registering with the traffic office in Switzerland would be more painful than just having a Swiss dealer take care of it. Plus there is usually a "Swiss package" option on Swiss configured cars that extends the warranty and comes with some good options.
I have not really seriously looked into 911 GT3 Tourings or the S/T, but it doesn't look like Swiss dealers take any mark-up if you can get these. They are company-owned dealers (unlike the US where franchise laws make that illegal) so I don't think they can take the above-MSRP mark-ups you see in the US market.

I ended up finding a new Carrera T in the Zurich area and I now have nearly 8000 km on the clock... but still have to drive the alpine passes with it.
I am in the Bienne/Morat/Neuchatel area, in case other members are around here.
