I've gotten a bunch of Auto marketing people calling wanting to me to pay them $500 for them to market and sell the car. I just tell them i'll give them $1000 after they sell it, but it doesn't work that way so I don't bother. Give em money up front and there's no motivation for them to sell it for you any more, they already have your money!
The real scammers are the ones who can't talk for some reason, because they are overseas/ on a ship and have no access to a phone. So they agree to pay your price and they'll send an agent to pick up the car after they pay via paypal. I assume they are paying with someone eolses Paypal account and once the car is picked up, the person who owns the account will dispute it and then you'll be out the money & the car.

We had a pleasant experience since I sold to the 1st guy within 24hrs. but I hate lowballers who just message a price "$5,000 cash, pick up tomorrow." I know they don't want a van, they just want to flip my vehicle that I did all the work prepping...
Next ad, no phone number in listing, just kijiji messaging... leave a photo space open
Next time I get a silly low ball offer, play along...

me: great. the ad's been up for 4 hrs already, I was getting worried about seling it can we meet tomorrow evening....

me: Sorry, car broke down, can't make it. Got confused with the price, was it $5,000USD cash?
