What do you think will happen to 997TT prices when 991TT prices start to come down?

Yea, you can get a manual in a 997 but come on. It's not like it's air-cooled or something.

If you really want a turbo i think there is still a chance. Might be a while though.

It may not be air cooled but it does have a Mezger race motor (997.1)... pretty important and unique to a Porschephile. Then the 997.2TT 6 speed cars have build numbers on their side, with very few made due to the economic conditions at the time + availability and uptake rate of PDK.

Only time will tell on the future values of our 997.1 & .2 turbos. I expect that at least, pricing isn't likely to drop lower than they already are - especially in Canada so long as the exchange rate maintains like it has the past couple years.

I'd say if you want to jump into the 997TT market, now's the time. Probably not going to get cheaper in the short term (2 - 4 years).

To the lucky people that own one of these cars I have to say I am somewhat jealous. Please enjoy in good health.

When that happens, ALL cars go on sale! It's fun to go way back in the classifieds to 2009-10 and see all the 997 GT3's for sale in the 70k range, and GT3RS in the 80k's. Nobody wanted them back then.

997TT 6MT coupe prices have been steady at 90-100k for five years as the FX has declined. I found that is true for many high and low dollar cars as well. These are 60-70k cars in the US as they would have been here if the dollar stayed strong. Still not that steep of a depreciation curve. There are also very few MT coupes for sale in Canada. What is really ridiculous is the price of .2 6MTs, which are relatively rare, in the 135-150k range. Cabs and autos can be had for quite a bit less. There is speculation these prices will rise but who knows how long that might take. Prospects for that do look decent based on volumes, transmission, heritage, simplicity, styling, etc....

I'd be surprised to find out that Pfaff paid 90 or better for any 997.1 trade in unless there was something special about it, it was an 09, or a buyer was in line. Not that I think they couldn't sell it in days for more but I've had discussions with them over the past months and in recent weeks and they are offering closer to 70 for these cars.

I wish I'd bought every GT2 I could find back then.... I also regret not buying your car every time I see your pics! It was nicely optioned but had more miles and wear than I wanted at the time but nothing better has come up since.

Thanks! I had Pfaff respray the front bumper, aerokit lip and side skirts as part of the sale and then immediately Xpel'd the entire front end, side skirts and rear quarters. Car has been rock solid over the past year & 15,000km, including a 5,000km road trip out to Cape Breton Island last summer.

I bought out a PFAFF lease on a 2008 turbo a few years ago. (their customer's car, which PAFF made very difficult for me to do i might add..).

resale price has climbed significantly since then which is nice.
(examples that were $70-80k in canada are now $90-100k).

The last of the short wheel base manual turbo 911 has become somewhat of a classic and production numbers are nice too. This has helped resale.

I was thinking of trading up to a 991.1TT at some point, however i might just keep/mothball the 997TT now rather then sell it if I do get a 991TT.

I have to say, the 997TT has served me well as a daily driver. tight, reliable, practical and fun.
I love the small size and can see why it holds it's value compare to the larger 991.1.

With each passing year I love the 997 more. A great all around modern sports car for the street with the classic 911 headlight look. TT values have been climbing other trims have been slowly rising as well. I hope to get a C2 or C2S in the garage one day.

I was racing at autoX a week ago and it was awesome to see the owner of a 6spd cab ripping it up!

Hey, that's me! Looks good, although I need to class up the numbers a bit... What's your name / what were you driving?
