What's driving the Air-cooled market?

They ARE the cars we fell in love with in the first place. Those eyes on that face... and that butt!
My Porsche love affair happened after seeing LeMans and a bright green 911 showed up, that was it for me. Had to have her one day.
Having fallen for a few girls in my younger days and seeing how they turned out a few decades later...
My new loves are the right ones for me.
just saying.
Owners of those vintage cars are seeing a great return for sure!
Good for them and the smart young ones with the means to get into a hot market.

I get that the fellas who drooled over these cars as kids etc can now afford them thus creating the demand. But I don't see the great attraction to the stock cars. I've driven pre 1989 911's an 964. And they all seemed boring & tame. I still love them but I have no desire for a stock air cooled car for the stupid money they're selling for. Hotrods are where it's at!

But...how do you feel about a 356? I've heard raves about the simple thrill of a pure machine.
I wouldn't say no to her

Cheap money and sudden rise in home equity.
I used to glance at the market from time to time. Even when the aircooled cars were what we consider "cheap" now they used to sit on the market.

Burning Brakes
Of course no one buys an air cool for performance but rather as an art form. As more and more people discover this, expect the price to continue going up.
Personally I would love to own one, bone stock, the way it was born.

It's the same cycle that muscle cars went through. Bone stock originals became too expensive for many so the resurrection of "day 2" (hot rods) cars started. Now only the day 2 cars get driven, the originals are seldom driven.
