Without knowing the type of the speed measurement device that was used, #4 isn't the best bet and it's in fact so played out that one of the commonly used speed measurement devices no longer needs to be calibrated in Ontario and all it requires is to press a test button.

The average plea bargain is around a 15 km reduction and in this particular case, OP had his speeding ticket reduced by 28 kms. Besides, given the fact that the infraction occurred in a community safety zone, it's safe to say that the original charge will be amended if this goes to trial.

The risk of having this ticket dropped by going to trial is not an ideal option.
Must be laser, as far as I'm aware all radar based units require calibration, please enlighten us on the make and model of this speed reading device. Over time there are always industry bulletins that will become available.

The traffic field uses radar guns just like the ones Police uses and they have a calibration button. Basically all it does is emits a tone with frequency for (I think) 50 and 100km/h and if the will self calibrate during this test. The days of using a tuning fork are long gone.

It's been more than 10 years that tuning forks are no longer required to test any of the Decatur Radar in Ontario. Here are some of the models, Genesis II select, GHD Genesis handheld and Genesis VP directional.

Thx.

In the last 10 years I've won two out of three spoeeding tickets challenging the speed reading device, the cases were dismissed due to the technicalities, who/when/is the officer present. We never got to the How-to of the device.

I did have a fourth speeding ticket that I lost using a Lawyer that was reffered by a Rennlist Brother. That was worst than going to court myself and loosing the case.

Lawyers rarely lose cases. In fact most don't go to court. They get you a littering fine before you show up. Could it have been a paralegal ?

Does the RL'ers name rhymes with Snookie?

I got royally shafted by the lawyer that represented him for that 50 over incident. That lawyer was a total “bait and switch” Ahole.

Might have been the same Ahole.

Never again, I'll fight the tickets myself,... it feels fantastic after every win, make the nerve racking part worth while.

Dropped as dismissed or the fine was lowered?

dismissed. was only 15 over reduced from 19 over. everybody said pay it or they will raise it back to 19 and points. I was doing 69 on Bayview south of Steeles and when he pulled me over I was like why are you pullling me over? it is a 50 there....way too low for that street. In the US speed limit would be 50 mph there.

Your opinion. Courts and City could care less what you think. The attitude is that we put signs up. Genetics or god gave you eyes and the Ministry gave you a license. Deal with it. (Their thinking)
