Car Proof is better for Canadian vehicles. It's good to see if liens are on the vehicle. Any thing else is a crap shoot. If a vehicle was in an accident and the owner paid for the damages, it may not show up on the report.
I used Car Proof when I bought a car in New Brunswick.
A ppi is a must.
That article is 3 years old. Carfax has VASTLY improved in the last couple years, even for Canadian vehicles. Carproof is still the standard in the used vehicle industry in Canada, but Carfax might include some less-than-important information like dealer services. Definitely get a carproof, but if you really want to be thorough get a carfax as well.
