Anyone in north GTA want to get their Car dyno'ed ?
So I had my winter beater (not my Porsche) tuned and dyno'ed a few days ago, got 336 wtq / 287 whp
And I asked the Dyno operator what would he charge per vehicle (up to 3 pulls) if I can get a few guys to come together for one giant session next spring. He said he could give us the following prices if I can get at least 4 cars to come together. If anyone is interested, let me know.
2WD group rate: $65 each, regular $80
4WD group rate: $80 each, regular $100
The Dyno is in Newmarket. I want to do my 997 next spring before I put high-flow CATs in

There is no way you will fall off this dyno, it is physically impossible

no affiliation with Definitive tuning, just a happy customer

Always wanted to dyno mine...keep me posted if you get sufficient interest. Do they just provide current state results or do they Tune as well for that price (seems unlikely, I know)?
Do they do motorcycles too?

I'd be really careful doing an air cooled car. They better know what they are doing and have the proper blowers. Not just fans
Buddy had his paint blistered on a dyno brought to a car show.

OK got new info from Definitive Tuning about Dyno'ing a rear drive 997, here is what they say
Because of what my friend said about the "diesel-gate" effect (see above) with respect to option 1, I would opt for the 2nd option (if I am going to do it) BUT I will need to see if someone here has a durametric pro cable who also wants to participate. So if you have a durametric PRO cable and willing to be part of the dyno run, let me know.
Now when I ask Definitive Tuning what they would do about cooling beside having the huge fan at the front for the radiators, this is what they said:
So there you have it. Still interested ?
I spoke with a Porsche specialty shop in the states that runs the same Dynapack system that we have. They informed me that you can run a RWD 997 on the Dynapack and get accurate numbers. The vehicle will freak out on the first run and warning lights will turn on (just like any newer vehicle), but after that the vehicle will run normally on the Dynapack and give accurate numbers. We will just need to clear the error codes in the computers after we are done. They informed me that the 997 will not go into a power limiting or "limp" mode based on their experience.
They also gave us a second option if we aren't comfortable with the first. You can take the car to the dealer prior to coming to the dyno and have them put the car in what's called "rolling mode" with the factory scan tool, in this mode you will not have any traction, stability, or ABS assists so you should be careful driving the car in this mode. After the dyno session you will need to return to the dealer and have them put the vehicle back into "normal" mode.

I have a smaller secondary fan that I can use to feed air into the intake. I use it when I'm tuning MR2's.
