Short introduction from a new owner of a 2006 997.1 C4S, GT Silver, 6-speed. Full leather Sea Blue interior. Silver Carrera Sport rims for the summer, Gun Metal Lobster Claw rims for the winters.
First time P-car owner, and first-time MT driver after many years in an AT with paddles. Fully intent on perfecting driver / MT skills before remotely thinking about performance or cosmetic upgrades.

Still feeling sentimental about trading in my previous car though -- the one that netted my wife, the one I got married in, the one I use to shuttle my babies around, the one I spend way too much time keeping pristine inside and out -- but loving the new P-car more and more each day. Wish I had money and room to keep both to be honest.

Nice!
I actually just went the other way and bought a older but lightly used BMW 335i for my winter/all-season car. I relegated my 2002 996 to a daily-if-the-weather-is-nice summer car. The BWM is more fun than I thought it would be, but it doesn't come close to the grin-inducing drive of the 911.
Actually my main goal was to make sure I can enjoy my Porsche for as long as possible. With the Porsche you feel like you are part of the machine.
I'd love to hear your comparison between the BMW and your 997 once you get a few miles on it.

Most E90/91/92's have split personality - as a DD it's very practical but lethargic, but shift into sport mode and you have a different animal. No middle ground, which was frustrating.
However, 6 yrs on, you still get a lot of attention in the BMW.
If there's one thing I wish my 997.1 4S had, it's that light bar that run across the rear deck lid, something Porsche reintroduced with the 997.2's.

I only drove naked in that car. J/k ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
First, I clean my car twice a year -- late spring, and late autumn. Second, knowing I wanted the black/beige combo, I chose leatherette over real leather. Lastly, mild detergent and a soft brush to scrub clean the seats.

Can someone explain to me the options the a 2006 997.1 comes in? Specifically the rims, I like your rims but I don't see it that often and not sure which optioned model it is.
Oh, maybe it is C4s vs the C2's?
That is a beautiful car

These are the Carrera Sport wheels from Porsche. There is a 997 brochure floating somewhere on the Web that shows all the factory rim choices.
